The NBA Conference semifinals started poorly for the Philadelphia 76ers, losing their first two games to the Miami Heat.

For the third game in the Top Seven Series, the 76-player team plays the host while the Heat hits the road.

This was without MVP Joel Embiid, who was injured in the final game of the first playoff round against the Toronto Raptors.

Why is Joel Embiid wearing a mask?

In the sixth match against the Raptors, Embiid sustained an injury when he was saved by Pascal Siakim.

Siakim hit his elbow in the face when defending the basket, causing an eye and face injury.

Embiid suffered a fractured Pilgrim and a concussion in the accident, which put him ready for matches one and two against the Heat in the Eastern Semi Final.

When Joel Embiid returned to the field in game three, he was wearing a mask to protect his eye from further damage.

Does he play against the Heat?

While coach Doc Rivers has confirmed that Joel Embiid will play with his visor, it’s a limited appearance.

Rivers said that since Embiid was unable to train fully, and lacked conditioning, it would be a limited time on the field.

Embiid was in the starting lineup for the 76th team, which won the first quarter with a score of 21-17, and the middle embeid scored seven of those points.
